We didn't have much chance for discussion last night, unfortunately, and until the rp forums get reloaded, we have a blank slate here for creation. If memory serves, there was not much in the old forums anyway in terms of ritual and membership requirements, and what was there can be integrated back in if needed/ desired.
Our current meeting schedule is the 1st and 3rd Monday of the month, just before fire circle: meeting 6:30 pm server; fire circle 7pm server. We can tweak that if needed, but my preference is to have our meetings before the fire circle to ensure that enough Mok'gun are present at the guild-wide event.
I'd like to use this thread to discuss potential storylines, etc. for the Mok'gun... where we'd like to see it head as the spiritual/ healing unit within the Grin.
Our current primary rp story arc surrounds the exiled Smashblade: we will be conducting research, trying to figure out a way to tether his soul to his body in the absence of Virroth. This will also tie into the requirements for participation and promotion within the Mok'gun: first aid and archaeology skill, along with some fun achievements.
I'd also like to get a more formal Mok'gun presence at other guild events: blessings before raids, casting protective spells on new inductees, stuff like that.
Here is the space to toss ideas into the ring please.

Like Fala was trying to say last night - I think what Xi has started (tone-wise) works good.
Organizing non-combat events (Fire Circle, materials gathering missions, acheological type stuff)
More opportunities for characters to bring out their character - let people know about their history / personality. (Can't really do that in combat)
Ideas:
different members could work into positions - as moral advisors to the units - it would depend on personality
someone could set themselves up as a sort of confessor - we got some real head cases in the guild lol (something like this could have seen Gor's struggle before it expolded)
Just a thought - but I would say go with the flow atm - everyone is still figuring out their places with the changes - watch for opportunities.
But most important - display an attitude of total neutrality and confidentiality - otherwise i won't work (notice I said display) - for the good of the Grin
I really like the tone of the RP as it's starting up here, so I agree that we should keep it as we are doing so far. One way that the MG could serve the Grin as a guild is to be almost like farmers. We could do occasional mat runs to create various things for the guild bank, which sort of goes along with the healer side of the MG (things like armor kits, or whatever...).
One thing that I've wondered about is how a character such as a rogue or warrior would work themselves into the group RP-wise. I would imagine that if they play as a more spiritually-inclined character (the tauren are a naturally spiritual people, after all), they could RP as part of the MG with little to no problem. However, I would also imagine that this would add a dimension to the group's RP, since there would be members of the MG who follow the group's mentality, but whose classes have little to no personal connection to the spiritual world (I hope that makes sense...I've been trying to put it into simpler words).
If I had to pick one word to describe the Mok'gun's aim so far, it would be "life." Our most focused goal should be the livelihood of the Grin.
I think (and sorry to burst your bubble here, Manny), the units are about different classes. Rogues are generally thieves, and spiritual is the last thing on my mind when I think of them. They're sneaky and shadow oriented. They belong either with the Lak'gora or the Gol'kosh. Warriors - definitely Gol'kosh. Same with real life - you could be a hardcore christian, but that doesn't mean you work at the church. I'll be honest, had you not pulled the spirit beast card on me, I'd have an issue with you RPing as Mok'gun. I do however like your RP idea a lot, so go with it. That doesn't necessarily mean all your characters are a right fit for the Mok'gun. I just don't see certain classes as spiritual leaders. With that said, if you do decide to join a different unit with an alt (and that applies to everyone else), bear in mind that this is a totally different character, with their own story. I know it's difficult not to be biased (as we all favor one unit over the others), but try to keep their personalities, as well as RP separate.
Yeah, I figured as much... I was just wondering how the MG as a whole was going to progress in that area.
I don't think there should be a strict limitation on classes for the units -- I could easily see a tauren warrior who consults runes or a troll rogue who occasionally sees visions fitting into the Mok'gun theme, just as a blood elf warrior might sign up with the Lak'gora because she enjoys "working outside the system" and the thrill of raiding ancient libraries for forbidden knowledge is more appealing than Gol'kosh guard duty. I think classes definitely lean towards one unit or another, but except for the Kaggoronosh requiring stealth, there are tons of different ways you can RP any given class.
I do agree, though, that a warrior or rogue who strongly favors the Light (or shamanism or whatever) in terms of what religion they follow doesn't really have a place in the Mok'gun, as the Mok'gun are spiritual leaders, not spiritual followers. I guess if you really wanted to swing it you could have something along the lines of a bodyguard or assistant -- a warrior sworn to protecting his clan's most venerated seer could be permanently attached to the Mok'gun rather than the Gol'kosh.
I agree with what Smash has said and intend to keep the Mok'gun open to classes on a case by case basis: in other words, you'll have to make a really convincing story if it's not an obvious fit!
I'm working up the different ranks within the Mok'gun now, along with their requirements (which I'll post in a separate thread soon), and I'd like to make it clear that I intend to broaden membership to lowbies and grots with an "Acolyte" rank. Of course the Grin's goal is to have everyone up to top tier fightin' shape, but my goal is for the activities to be as inclusive as possible along the way so people really begin to feel that they are a part of the Grin.

HEY! I hain't no thief!
*mumbles angrily*
I'll sh-show ya spirichal!
Well I think that I am interested in the Mok'gun. Regarding how Zajo would fit into the role play of the group despite not being a healer type is that he is a Mage. Being a Mage requires communication with forces not of the arcane. Ive always thought, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, that communication with magical energies can be achieved through several different avenues.
And for Zajo Ive always sort of thought in my head that he gained his access to the arcane via the Loa. Through the Loa is where I feel that I'd have the necessary spiritual connection.
At any rate I look forward to role playing within this subgroup.
